Wifi Hotspot JCLS Connect

Through the JCLS Connect program, library users 18+ in good standing can check out mobile hotspots for three weeks with 5GB of data to use.

Patrons can return the Hotspot to any Library Location or book drop. Patrons must return the device will all the original packaging and accessories. The Hotspot will not be considered returned until all components of the Hotspot are returned. Patrons with an overdue Hotspot for 21 days or longer will be blocked from checking out additional materials. The library assumes that the item is lost when it is 21 days overdue. The cost to replace the Hotspot is $35.00. Other replacement costs: wall charger $5.00, charging cable $5.00, hotspot case $15.00.

Patrons' internet usage is not tracked by the Library, but while using the Hotspots, patrons are governed by the same rules as the Library's Internet Acceptable Use Policy http://jcls.org/policies. Parents/guardians are responsible for the use of the Hotspot by minors. Hotspots are not encrypted or secured. When connecting to a JCLS Wi-Fi Hotspot, we highly recommend selecting a public network profile on your device, so that it applies the same high level of privacy control that it would when connecting to public Wi-Fi at a coffee shop, airport, or library.
