Description
The battle of Stalingrad lasted from September 1942 to January 1943, and was one of the greatest bloodbaths in military history: a million people dead from mutual slaughter, starvation, and the bitter winter cold. The awesome battle that thwarted Hitler's Eastern Front conquests is told from the viewpoint of four German soldiers sent from the North Africa campaign to join the Sixth Army to take the city, a vital crossroads and defense industry center. Encircled by Soviet forces, one by one, the men are killed or captured and the myth of Nazi invincibility is destroyed.
