Description
Dexter won the National Book Award for "Paris Trout". Warren Spooner's father died shortly after he was born and was eventually replaced in his mother's affection by a court-marshaled former naval officer, Calmer Ottosson. Spooner had a troubled childhood, a troubled adolescence, and a violent and troubled adulthood. Calmer Ottosson spent his life trying to salvage the stepson he could never hope to understand. A darkly comic story of love and resilience.
